How intro requests work on Hifive
Last updated: March 31, 2025
With an Introduction Request, a Requestor initiates the process by requesting an introduction to a specific target individual. The Connector—a mutual contact or Premium Connector—is then notified of the request via email and SMS. Upon reviewing the request, the Connector can choose to accept it. Once accepted, they facilitate the introduction using plain text communication. Hifive leaves the method of introduction up to the Connector’s discretion: they may opt for a double opt-in approach (checking with the target first to confirm interest) or a direct introduction (immediately connecting the Requestor and target without prior confirmation).
(3) Three days after the Connector accepts the request and makes the introduction, Hifive notifies the Requestor with a prompt: 'Did this introduction result in a connection?' If the Requestor doesn’t respond, Hifive follows up multiple times to ensure feedback is collected. Once the Requestor marks the introduction as successful—indicating a meaningful connection was established—the Connector receives an initial payout. This payout is processed automatically, with the Connector notified via email and SMS, while the Requestor is simultaneously charged for the amount through Stripe.
(30) Thirty days later, Hifive follows up with the Requestor again, asking: 'Did this introduction result in a closed-won deal?' If the answer is yes, the Requestor enters the total dollar value of the deal into the platform. A second payout is then calculated and sent to the Connector, based on a pre-agreed percentage of the deal’s value. Both the Connector and Requestor are informed of this transaction, ensuring transparency.
This dual-payout structure rewards Connectors for both successful connections and impactful outcomes, while Hifive’s automated notifications and payment system streamline the process for all parties involved.
