How to create a group

Step 1: Access the Group Creation Page

  1. Log in to Hifive

    • Ensure you're logged into your Hifive account. The platform's logo is visible in the top left corner of the interface.

  2. Navigate to the Groups Section

    • On the left sidebar, locate the "Groups".

    • If you're not on the Groups page, click "Groups" to access it.

  3. Click "Create a Group"

    • On the "My Groups" page (as shown in the second image), find the "Create Group" button in the top right corner (with a "+" icon).

    • Click the "Create Group" button. This will take you to the "Create a New Group" form, as shown in the first image.

Step 2: Fill Out the Group Creation Form

  1. Upload a Group Logo (Optional)

    • In the "Group Logo" section at the top of the form, click the "Upload Logo" button to select an image from your device.

    • Follow the recommendation: Use a square image that is at least 200x200 pixels for optimal display quality.

    • If you don’t have a logo, you can skip this step (it will display "No logo" by default).

  2. Enter the Group Name

    • In the "Group Name" field, type a clear and descriptive name for your group.

    • Make sure the name reflects the group’s name (company name) or purpose to attract the right members.

  3. Write a Description

    • In the "Description" field, provide a brief overview of the group’s purpose and target audience.

    • Include details about what the group is for and who should join.

    • Be concise but informative. Look at the second image for inspiration:

      • "Hifive" describes itself as "a B2B invite-only network" with clear incentives ("Earn $250 per successful intro and 10% rev share if the deal closes").

  4. Set Group Privacy

    • Decide if the group should be private by toggling the "Private Group" switch.

    • If the toggle is off (default), the group will be public, meaning anyone can see and join it.

    • If the toggle is on, the group will be private, meaning it’s only visible to members, and you may need to approve new members (depending on Hifive’s settings).

Step 3: Review and Create the Group

  1. Double-Check Your Entries

    • Review the logo, group name, description, and privacy settings to ensure everything is correct.

    • Ensure the description is engaging and the name is appropriate for your target audience.

  2. Click "Create Group"

    • If you’re satisfied, click the "Create Group" button at the bottom right of the form to finalize the creation of your group.

    • If you want to cancel and discard the form, click the "Cancel" button instead.

  3. Return to Groups

    • After creating the group, you’ll likely be redirected back to the "My Groups" page (as shown in the second image).

    • Your new group should now appear in the list alongside others like "Hifive," "Nooks," and "Orbital."

    • You’ll be listed as the "Admin" of the group, and the member count will start at 1 (you).

Step 4: Manage Your Group (Optional)

  1. Invite Members

    • Once the group is created, you can invite members to join. On the "My Groups" page, click the "Manage" button next to your group to access settings and invite options.

  2. Customize Settings

    • Use the "Manage" button to adjust settings like member approval processes, group rules, or additional details.
